I just found out that today, 16th October 2006, marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sir Hugh T Munro.
I also found out that his home was at Lindertis, and so his nearest munro was Driesh, which is practically in my back garden![]()

That's reminded me to get me boots MOT'd and ready for some Munro bashing !. This probably only means the obligatory trip up Ben Lomond.
Are there any munro bashing activities planned to mark this ?
Old antique bottles and flagons wanted . If you know where I can find any in old dumps or middens you may have come across , then let the last of the midgie rakers know.
landrovernet scotlnad munro bashing anyone? I'd be up for a bit of this, not been hillwalking in ages and could do with some exercise![]()

Hmm the most I have managed round here is about 500m (which ain't much really seeing as I live at 270m!) and then I started feeling a bit funny - altitude sickness?I must get fitter, I must get fitter ...

Hi Bernie, finally got around to checking out where Angus Glens actually is. Not long to go now (102 days until we're leaving Australia and arriving in Forres). Seems like I'll be passing your way fairly often as I will probably be working in Edinburgh.
Keep me posted on the Munro attempts. I've been threatening my boy with some real exercise in some real weather....
Good news rico! Up around here you can do 3 or 4 in a day ...![]()
