Default Pope John Paul reborn as ‘Incredible Popeman’

The first issue of a comic named the “Incredible Popeman” is about to go on sale and shows the late Pope John Paul II meeting comic book legends such as Batman and Superman to learn how to use superpowers to battle Satan. There's also plans for Incredible Popeman action figures.

Now, I'm not particularly religeous but I do find the idea somewhat tasteless.

The pope was a very important figure in the lives of a lot of people and I find anything of this nature to be very offensive and insensitive.

A joke is a joke and I enjoy them as much as anyone but behind most jokes there is a victim. I think this takes things more than a wee bit too far.

But this isn't a joke and is the work of a catholic who has been working on the comic book for about a year.
Haven't really got any views on it myself but it would be interesting to see what the Vatican have to say about it.

"here he comes to save the daaaaay".

Some might say it is in bad taste, but I for one feel it is one mans way of imortalising the man he loved and revered.

    To each their own.
