Spotted this behind bars yesterday. Anyone know what it is? Or anything else about it?

best I could find was this...
Fact file
Company name: Uri Offroad Vehicles (Pty) LtdAddress: P.O.Box 97482, WindhoekTel: +264-61-244-533Fax: +264-61-248-682E-mail: marketing@uri.com.na (marketing@uri.com.na) URL: www.uri.com.na (http://www.uri.com.na/)
Intro: Ewert Smith, a local farmer created the URI all-terrain-vehicle in 1995. Uri is a Nama word for "jump" and the car raised the attention of other farmers at local off-road racers where it jumped brilliantly. Mr. Smith soon realized the need for expansion and established a company to increase the production. By now Uri vehicles are also manufactured under licence in South Africa. The Uri 4x4 vehicle concept is to build a simple, robust and no frills vehicle with good off-road capability, that can do the job. Uri's are mostly used on farms, in mines, for policing and related heavy duty environments. The company seeks to expand production by way of licence agreements to other continents.
google trawled up a couple of hits on the company name, but none of the links wanted to fly...

Thanks Mike! Had a good squiz at the bits I could see, and there are some interesting looking features - like the slightly curved doors and extra-high back area. Will keep my eyes open for more of these beasts.

it ummmmm... reminded me of really auld Toyota's... the ethos of rugged and basic but reliable confirms my thought that Landrover really aren't serving the market for a basic but sound utility truck all that well...

There's some distress in this household as I've made it known that a T****a FJ40 has pride of place on my Christmas list

Would that distress be over the "No Land Rover, no kiss" in my signature? ;)

mmm....
You know I am a Land Rover owner at heart :p
Could it be the thought of having a fast, reliable, economical 4x4 near the Landies?

Oh, I doubt it will be allowed to park anywhere near the Landies.. :D I think I saw an open spot in the complex down the road.
(And here's where I confess that my family used to drive Toyotas only - for their speed, comfort, reliability and resale value. But that's all I'm confessing to)
