Day before yesterday:

Because of the drought here in the last rainy season, a good friend of mine and myself had to move some cattle from his farm to greener pastures - well, just as yellow and brown, but with more grass.

So they were collected, branded, horns burnt, castrated and tagged, then loaded.

All in a day's work for a Land Rover in Namibia. The last picture shows why you should not wear nice clothing when offloading animals from a truck... Yes, those brown stains are what you think... :o

Seeing that old Benz reminds me of the advert from about 20 years ago

If Mercedes Benz trucks are so expensive, why are there so many on the road?

This brought back memories of my youth, going out with the herdsmen (see, I can be politically correct), rounding them up and bringing them in to be dipped, or loaded up for the abatoir or the auctions.

Hope you guys got the "V's" just right with the burdizo :D

I'm sure they don't mind being dipped, but don't the herdsmen resist when you take them to the abatoir?

Now you know where I learned how to creep up on people and generally be stealthy.

They didn't mind the dipping or being sent to the slave auctions, but they would protest loudly when they realised the lorry was on it's way to the abatoir :D

That is a 1313 Merc, by the way. Still going strong.
