Guys!

I've managed to get my grubby paws onto a design for a very sturdy ground anchor and am thinking of making one.

This isn't something that I plan on tackling in house as:

1. I'd need to buy a 1220 x 2440 sheet of 6mm plate that would cost a little less than my house. I'd also have enough plate left over to build a small armoured car.
2. The pieces of sheet steel need to be laser cut and bent on a CNC machine that I don't have.

I've spoken to a guy who's done fabrication for me in the past and he's willing to make the ground anchors but the costs for this kind of thing on a one off are quite high, so anyone who's looking for a ground anchor and who'd like to get one made at the same time as me, please let me know.

Cheers
Bvudzi.

Jim,

Will you be collecting in person?

No, I have my own plan/idea for a ground anchor that is easily stowable and doesn't wiegh a ton!

My query was what sort of anchor you were planning, "sheet steel ....cut and bent", and whether it was like any of the marine anchors in use, as there have been many developments of those in the last few years, and quite a few tests done on holding capacity under various conditions. marine anchors need to dig in unattended, wheras ground anchors can be placed and helped to start.
