Hi all.
We all had a great time today.
Only prob was that I killed my V8 big time. Its dead and going to be made into a wine rack or table. And did have a good time killing it.

If you need a rebored 3.5V8 with a reground crank and new camshaft bearings (3.9cam) then I know where there is one going for about 215 quid?

So what have you actually done to it? Electrics or the dredded bent valves??? :(

Oh no nothing to do with the water. It was running like a pile of bolts before we entered that. The engine has always been a bit suspect think it had been run on a mix of oil and water for a good while before I got her so now we have to look at changing the engine. But to be honest it was just a matter of time.

Ah not just yet mate.
I have another V8 lined up to keep me going till I get time to get the Disco sorted.:D
Cheers for the offers folks.

Its a massive undertaking but why don't we strip then clean up the My rangey chassis thats lying there, then work our way up through axles bushes etc. eventually creating a new Dakar. With bomb proof chassis etc. cool for summer (2010)

You ken mate I have thought about it but the biggest difficulty is the bulk head and electrics. We shall discuss tommorow cause your chassis is very good and could be an option. And yeah it seems that I have so many options its getting confusing but the V8 was jsut to buy me some time as its not expensive delivered to the door (cheers Gordon your a star) and hopefully a just a day to fit. Then we be back on the road.
Marc I recon friday and saturday could have it fitted if weather good.
