Well, managed to sort the first part of my chassis swap...I am now the proud "renter" of a workshop!! Didn't fancy working outside so Cas and myself are moving to "Royal" deeside into a cottage with very large outbuildings. One of them is a pretty big garage/workshop big enough for the landy, bikes and stripped chassis :) There are a further 2 "bays" that i can park the other landy and car in :)

So, if anyome fancies volunteering to give me a hand, I will be a couple of miles from Banchory...with copious amounts of tea and bacon rolls! :D

I can put people up!!..lol

Its going to be a while before I actually get hold of the chassis etc, but I will start to prepare things, such as removing the body, painting it, getting things WD 40's etc.

My biggest worry, and the bit I might need help on is the fitting of the brake pipes etc and the fitting of the engine/gearbox/wiring.

Soooo..even the odd evening or something to help/advise would be highly appreciated. Might even break out the Whisky collection ;)

Fitting brake (and clutch) pipes is no problem, if you are to make your own, get a decent flaring tool and practice lots first!

If you have a dual system and a shuttle valve or whatever itis called, I suggest putting it where you can get at it, I put mine next the master cylinder and ran the pipes up to it, makes bleeding and checking it much easier than if it is down on the chasis.

Obviuosly you will fit brake pipes to chassis when it is accessible so easy to run in right places.

Whisky, and a collection means more than one brand, :) :) now your talking, could be persudaed if I'm up your way...:D :D

The joys of living with someone who used to work in a distillary (Glenturret before it became The Famous Disney World Grouse Experience) :D :D I only went out with her for her whisky!

She was at the Whisky Society in Edinburgh not so long back at a tasting. Came home with the most stunning single malt. A 30 year old, not sure of the label as it came in an unmarked bottle but it was devine..and so it should be at £20 a nip!!  :D :D

Don't move until the end of April, so its not going to be before end of June before I start to rebuild. Will be stripping off stuff before then and hopefully turning one of the bays into a spray booth. :)

That's arm twisting big style, but be careful you may have more takers than nips:D :D

My old dad used to like some of that;) we used to get him a bottle every new year which would last him nerly a year and the old ****** would not share it with anyone;) latterly it became very difficult to get where we live, and had to send down south for it:(
