My project is nearing completion. But I have a slight prob. On the SU carbs there are two pipes separate that just hang down the side of the engine. These are the fuel return pipes to the tank but they are not connected and there is no return pipe. Now its not a prob to put one in but these pipes need joined at the carbs so they become one pipe. Casn someone have a look at there 3.5 and tell me is it just a y joining piece or is it joined on the carb. Also if there is a Y piece cant anyone supply me one and stick it in the post.

Regards

Hi Rod ,
i may be well off the mark here , but ....
I think this is the carb overflow pipes and they just vent to atmosphere . On mine i have 2 pipes running from the SU's to the front of the engine and down to just above oil filter level . There they end . As far as i am aware there are no return lines to the tank on SU carbed engines .

As i say , i may be off the mark here , but it hasny done my motor any harm :D .
Cheers , gordon .
