I thought I'd try to get this forum going again.
This is the first snowfall to the Pemberton valley floor this year. Whistler got some last week. The mountains are actually looking pretty white now, could be a good ski season if it stays cold.

October 30th I got the pleasure of driving through a blizzard from just South of Golden almost to Rogers pass. I'm suprised the pass wasn't white but the snow stopped before it got there. It was a bit tough seeing into the snow with the headlights but once dawn arrived visability greatly improved. Hit snow again on the Coquahala (sp) heading South from Kamloops, combined with the wicked wind that blew all day. It was cold enough on this piece that it was easy driving, so cold it wasn't slippery. Amazing that there was such a change in snow conditions at the toll booth. Three inches on one side of the toll booth and eight inches a mere twenty feet awy on the other side of the canopy. From the east slope of the Rockies to the Coast, where it wasn't snowing it was raining, really windy all day and a torential downpour from Hope through Abbotsford. Got to the coast and it was sunny and a blue sky. Ya gotta love it out here! (Of course last weekend we got 100mm of rain, thats 4 inches for the non-metric crowd.)
My kid just left to play in the snow on a local mountian. Hope he gets out before they close the gate.
