This has been posted before, but here it is again in the new (and correct) section. Visit the following website for information on local fords and river crossings:

http://www.wetroads.co.uk

Email Lee Chapman with any you know that aren't already listed. Don't be a dummy (like me) and look in the wrong county. N.B. Wetton is in Staffordshire.

I got the co-ordinates for all of them off him too (very kind gent) and have converted them to a format most GPS programs can read. I'll attach it here if there's any interest .. about 60KB I think ..

Very interesting site. Some of my favourites appear, as I'm sure everybody elses do.

Some of the Somerset fords look to be rather long, could be worth a paddle next time I get down that way.

Remember almost getting stranded at Sunderland Point (Lancaster, Lancashire) in my 1st car (Chevette) and praying that the door seals understood their job-description.

Chevette - nows theres a cool motor. Skoda man too, obviously a very intelligent bloke.

Yep, it was okay. One of the special editions with brown over gold paint, only ever seen one like it.
It was registered as EJX 675Y

I'd still like a HS or HSR as a 'fun-car', barring that a 'Dolly Sprint' (in Mimosa Yellow), Escort RS1800 or a Talbot (Lotus) Sunbeam

Love Skodas, I'd have an Octavia RS, or an Estelle tomorrow

My brother had a Bedford Chevanne back into 80's. We painted it white and fitted Rostyle wheels from an Opel Manta. If I can find a pic I'll piut it on. It did look the dogs b------ks - remember things were simpler back then!

I have a Octavia vRS in silver (wanted Yellow but SWMBO wouldn't let me) it's a lovely car. 146mph and 40+mpg. One of the best cars I've had. I'm looking forward to seeingthe new Octavia next year. Hopefully they will make a vRS PDi 150 in that range or a 4x4 PDi 130 Estate.

I have a friend who's selling a Yellow Dolly Sprint. He doesn't want much for it I don't think. It was fully restored a few years ago but has has sat in his garage unused for a while. It is MOT'd but very dusty. Could probably be had for a 5 or 6 hundred quid. I think it has new engine in it too.
