Weekend before last, the crazies from Nam went into the Damaraland wilderness with the Series II's and III's. Two defenders as backup. Much fun was had.
The running river is the Ugab, yes that is a desert elephant, yes we did take the german "weissbier" with bretzels baked on the fire and the weisswürste and the "obatzder" specially for the sunday morning breakfast and no, nothing major broke.
Much fun was had.
Some pics.
Pic one: The whole crew in Uis, those white Deffy's on the left was a tour group with Japanese clients who wanted in on the pic, they weren't part of our group.
Pic two: Riverbed at last
Pic three: Windhoek draught beer + Series two four pot + thick mud = ?
Pic four: 90 V 8 plus Series II four pot plus beer plus mud equals ?
Pic five: At this point we had only one vehicle mobile, all the others were stuck or "parked in".
Pic six: Stuck again at the campsite
Pic seven: Breakfast
Pic eight: loxodonta africana africana, stay well clear (we are on foot here)
Pic nine: The only vehicle to get up this dune in one shot was the Series III Diesel...
Pic ten: Series III Diesel on trailer behind 110 V8 at dusk on the road back home...
