I reckon a SII with SIII wings, as the headlamps are in the radiator panel and the SIII wings added later to give it the SIIA look? Plus no SIII plstic dash.

Hi Bobo,

Parts are not too hard to find though I have resorted to using the internet and mail. Here in Brisbane FWD Motors do a lot of parts and for example are the Oz agents for Rocky Mountain (parabolic springs amongst other thnigs).

Where abouts are you? There's a lot of work there but Im sure hours and hours and weeks and weeks of fun too! :D

Are you consider buying it or is it on offer if you want it? What's the story?

Thanks Mark.

This wreck was rescued from the tip - 1 minute before being crushed into a small tin can...

It is still there but now I do not want it - I have chosen to build (from ground zero) up a Series 1 instead..

I have acquired a totally refurbished S1 86" chassis from NSW and asorted parts around the place...

The only major parts I now require before I hoe in are - axles, steering column and bulkhead.

I am currently based in WA but will be moving to Melbourne shortly.

Does FWD Motors have S1 parts?

Hi Bobo,

Does FWD Motors have S1 parts?

I don't know but here is the website address for them: http://www.fwdmotors.com.au :)

I have found parts for my S2 from them and through Repco (brakes and clutch bits). Most of the rest I source through ebay (post can be expensive from my experience) or from online parts sources (post can be cheaper anlthough worth checking if they are planning to use couriers which is very $$$ .

My S2 (featured in signature) is currently sitting with nothing bar springs forward of the bulkhead as I refurbish axle (diff, bearings, and swivels - got my rechromed locally and they look so good its almost a shanme to expose them to raod wear), brakes, clutch, and engine (had the head fitted with new exhaust valves, hardened seats and new guides so... should be able to run it on unleaded - what's that I hear you say Mr Murphy?).

I wish you luck with your S1 and will look forward to progress reports. :) I think I saw a photo of it you posted in another thread. Did you get it from the UK?

Cheers

Many thanks Redbak -

Update - I have been scouring the country and world for parts and have been successful thus far..

Been able to acquire all major body parts and drivetrains in less than one(1) month - at very inexpensive prices..

I will ring his 'Jim' up for more help..

Cheers

If your moving to Melbourne you might want to consider
joining the LROCV. We have a very active Series 1 register
who as well as running S1 trips and functions have a mailing
list for sourcing parts and information.

We have two or three Series 1 actually compete in our trials
and amazingly come 1st quiet often.
Here are a couple of links to our gallery that show what our
Series 1 guys get up to ...

Thanks Redbak.

I have now landed in Melbourne and happily settled - at last!

We have seen the photos of the S1 on your site (from previous outings in 2004/5) and it is these photos which inspired me to proceed with an S1 - over the SII and SIII builds.

I LOVE IT!

We will certainly be joining your club soon.

Can I ask where the best place to source parts in Melbourne please?
