Great day out fellas :D :D Thanks again to Paul for his fine route finding as always.

Didn't get home till 10, took the round-about route to Bala before heading home... Just finished unloading the truck (including old wheels & tyres) and getting it ready for work tomorrow

Had the perfect day to try my new Macho 265/75R16 tyres and 8 spoke wheels from http://www.uptotheaxles.com/, great price and conveniently located just outside Corwen close to the Wayfarer :D :D

New tyres are fantasic, loads more grip than my old Rangemasters :D

Was a great day out, shame about the bits of damage and Geo getting beached - the worst bit of that was there was no photos as he rescued himself :D :D

I got my bumper bent on a very deep hole full of water at the top the steps - it had very steep sides and we did wonder if it was natural or man-made but it's difficult to tell

Nice to side both Disco's having fun, really amazing what they achieved :D :D

Dammit I thought no-one had remembered that bit!!! It was one of those daft moments where I rushed to catch you lot up and made a mistake! And there was that sinking feeling of "oh bollucks now what am I gonna do"! Thankfully there was a tree in the right place and close enough to reach with the winch! THank gaud for self recovery equipment!!! :D Oh and bugga yer know what I forgot to take a pic too, so in effect it never actually happened!!! ;)

Paul, thanks for a fantastic day out, with your guidance I achieved more with my Discovery than I ever thought possible, I am utterly gob smacked with the things we did, i.e. the V gully!! I was ready to go home when I saw Jon doing impossible angles! And the Steps!! After Dave had shown me the pictures of his little topple!*!!** :( Well I haven’t slept all night just reliving the moments, did I enjoy my self? Enjoyment!!! That’s an understatement, there was Joy, Fear, in trepidation, this is just bloody stupid, and shear elation all rolled into one emotion. :D

Also thanks to Jon, Guy, Dave and your dear lady for making me feel part of the team, hope to meet up with you all soon., Stopped on the way home for a McDonalds, arrived home at 10pm, 15 hours after leaving at 7am, thoroughly knackered but oh so thoroughly satisfied, and if you will have me??? I would really like to tag along again some time. Some great shots there lads, When I figure out how to put a web link on the forum I will show you my pics.

Hi Jon,
Have you washed your motor yet? Reluctantly jet washed mine today, dear lady said I can wash it or park it round the corner!!! Women!!** :(I don’t think there is a panel that has not got a scratch on it, how is yours looking mate? Will have to wash it with bucket and sponge with some wax in it, and see how it looks after.
If yours looks like mine, and it is in a similar state to the previous time you went off road, how the hell did you get it to look as good as it did Sunday? What make of T-cut did you use?

Paul, I hope there is no law about pinching soil from the Welsh hills, I’ve got loads of it on my drive, ha ha.

Hope to get a 2” lift, and bigger tyres for my next outing, but its always the same, when your not in the market for doing the lift, etc, you see loads of springs and setups, But, as soon has you decide to go and fit your lift, bingo, were did I see so and so for sale, “bah umbug” or words to that effect.:banghead2

Any input, where, and what make of spring, and anything else you think I should fit with a 2” lift would be gratefully received.:p

Guy, how are the photo’s looking? Really liked the one of me and mine in the V-Gully, and going up the STSTSTEPPPSS, Any chance of putting some more on line, for a peek?;)

Dave, sorry mate, didn’t realise you had new boots on, thought they were just a pair of old rigger boots cleaned up, he he. :D

Cheers me dears.

Fantastic day, thanks folks. Good to see you all again, and to meet you Keith. Photo's excellent, the one's of Jon in the V gully make you hold your breath and pray. Lovely sunset Guy. David must have had a Heathcliff and Cathy moment when he planned our route home, talk about deserted............even the sheep had gone home, nothing but miles of moorland.

This woman loves her Landy muddy, the problem is most of it's on the inside!!! Woof :D

Hello SuziD,
Nice meeting you: hope to see you again soon: yes it was a great day out, nice weather, nice Country, and a nice crowd of people, topped of with some buttock clenching moments, what more could one ask for.
Early mornings and late evenings, what lovely times of the day – no hustle no bustle – the road to your self - the warm air - the tranquil views – the time when a young mans fancy turns to “”” HOLD ON NOW!!!! Well! Yea okay Dave, I get the drift.
Yes I know what you mean about the mud in the motor, we have always had dogs and cats for pets, going back as far as I can remember! But sadly, within the space of 12 months we lost both our dogs together, and the cat about 6 months later, but they were all of a good age, the cat was 23 years old. We have a wild cat that has been visiting us for a few weeks, Patricia my other half has started to feed it, and low and behold, it has started to come into the house, and she has even been able to stroke it so: it looks like we have adopted the little beggar.
We have always had big dogs: Alsatians’ and Rottweiler’s but I am thinking of having a little Jack Russell for a change - - less poo to get up!!

Having recently been thinking about +2 springs I've gone off the idea for the moment until I can get some +2 shocks and extended brake lines.... don't know if the same is recommend on your Disco? Think Geo is a big fan of removing Disco anti roll bars - don't know if you have one and if you'd get any benifit

Hi Jon,
Have you washed your motor yet? What make of T-cut did you use?

Not had time to wash it yet, but at least the mud covers most of the damage .

I think its just carplan T-cut for metalic paint, then a quick wax.

Real shame Jon, you did a fine job with the T-cut, didn't even see the cattle feeder which attacked your N/S  :(

I was having a think about Rebels anti-roll bars today and I think he should keep them on for the time being. If my mental mechanics is working properly they are preventing the springs form dislocating and also (more importantly) preventing the brake lines from being ripped out! So until you do get a 2" lift with extended brake hoses leave the anti-roll bars on! Once you do have the lift then whip em off and go and enjoy all that articulation, you saw the difference it made when Eva came to get across obstacles!

Thats Geo's view anyhow!

I will post pics in a short while, tea first!

Yea Dave, on the read ups they all recommend longer brake pipes etc. Have anti-roll bars, feel a little reticent about taking them off, I like to let it all hang out on the corners! Might just let it hang out too far with anti’s off.

Guy, well thought out, agree 100% with your thoughts, looks like I will have to slow down on the bends and islands then, when the ant’s come off.

Cracking shots Guy, I think I have told just about everyone at work about our momentous trek through the, enclosing V-Gully and it’s scissor like jaws, the beautiful serene undulating hills, that entice you into its treacherous slippery grip and will not let you go, the devils own steps that try to hammer you into submission as they lead you to the gateway of heaven, and then, to top it all, if you survive all that there is the - “holding nose” – POO CITY, oh I think I’ve forgotten to tell the tea lady, it’s hard work trying not to forget someone when there’s about 400 people to tell.

It dose work, I just need to play about with the pressure relief valve. I will try to do it latter this week.

I have been looking at springs and shocks. I know someone who is having a new make of shock made and I hope to be one of the first to have them fitted.;) . Just need to get some reat raised shock mounts made as the shocks are 6 inches longer than standard. The front mounts ore easey to make.

Thats why I think I will need to make the mounts. I dont want to cut the tub. But with the offset of the wheels I have enough room.

Trailing arms and castor correction arms on list. Might have to go for another front prop but think the back will be ok as its long on the 110.

Still waiting for the lenght of the front shocks to come, but I think 4 inches over standard, but the turrets are easy to get. As are the break pipes, I am having them made 6 inches over standard. I have the rear dislocation cones, I got the ones that go on the axel and not at the top.

Yes Dave, I have the Reverse cone kit for the back. I think they have stoped doing the coil spring kits now. On that note I got the rear kit from a member of this forum. I will ask him about the shock mounts.

Funny you should say that Dave. I am going to put in a rasired floor to keep all the stuff under. So it will be a flat area in there. A blow up bed would fit nice.
