LOL - I like mine - just what it would be like with some red neon lights under there  :D

Great effort on all the pics

Do you have details of Sam's damage? Real shame if it's anything major, VW was going really well in the deep mud...

He stuffed a CV joint, dirty clutch and the rear diff lock actuator was broken too, all easily fixable and I believe it is all ready fixed! Sam seemed quite upbeat about it all!!

Well I have just agreed to swap the Mack 5s.

For another set of Mach 5s, with a bigger off set. +50mm on mine. Also swaping tyres. Saves changing them. I will have Dirt Devels on the next time you lot see it, the same size for now!!

Should have my new damper tomorrow hopefully, the one that came off has a chunk missing and is a tad curved.

LOL - what does she think you do on the weekends :D Watch it, she'll be increasing your life insurance policy :D

Speaking of which does off roading count as a dangerous hobby that the insurance should be told about  Suppose it depends how you're doing it

Dave did you ask you insurance company about the tyres?

Not had the chance but spoke to a couple of 'office petrolhead experts' who agree with my interuptation, under 70 fine and will even go through an MOT no problem. I will however try and get a couple of Rangemasters off eblag when finances allow so I have a set for long road trips, Don't know what the wear rate is like on a macho...

I have just done it. Starting off at Corwen, buttie box at the farm, ending up at Lake Vyrnwy. 2 river crossings, one good climb and Poo City. Its 66 miles without the drive out and drive home.
We can do it either way round, its not too strchy! If we start/end Lake Vyrnwy, you can go/come over the top from Bala. But if we start from Lake Vyrnwy, I will drive out with anyone who wants to start from Oswestry and do a few lanes on the way up.

CRAG have not set a limit on numbers. Just to use you common sence. If I go looking at new lanes there only 2 or 3 of us. but if I know the routes and they are substainable then 5 is ok, 6 at a push rather than 2 groups of 3. But it all depends on where the route is. On Salibbury Plan you could take very large groups out and still not tell where you have been, and I am not saying go out in big groups. Wales tends to be 5 with me.

Dont know about paddocks engine parts, never used them (Used to work at NWL, got all my engine stuff cheap there :)), but if IIRC the 200Tdi sits a lot further forward than the 300 so its a damn easier to get to all the bellhousing bolts and general access is a lot better as well so you should have a quite stress free time depending on what you find.

We can do it either way round, its not too strchy! If we start/end Lake Vyrnwy, you can go/come over the top from Bala. But if we start from Lake Vyrnwy, I will drive out with anyone who wants to start from Oswestry and do a few lanes on the way up.

Hey dude! HAve been pondering your problem and I think it might be your piston rings! THe reason for thinking this is a while back Moses' 2.25 petrol started chucking white smoke and oil out of its breather and that was piston rings. Of course all he did was swop the whole engine over, but it does sound very much like whats up with yours!

Just thought you should know!
