Had a trip planned this Saturday to include the Gap and other local lanes and two vehicles have dropped out due to technical difficulties. I therefore have space for one, possibly two vehicles. One will require a winch (just in case due to the lanes I have planned). Panel damage maybe a possibility so no shinies! Any takers?

It's bad - had to call it off last October for similar reasons.
Oh well, roll on September.
The offer runs out at the end of this evening as I will plan a more local route.
Can't say I asked! And i had some cracking lanes planned!

I'll be going up the gap on Sunday, as long as most of the snow and ice has gone (too dangerous if not)
Taking a couple of shineys with me though ! (including myself)

The Gap is fine for shineys - it was the others I had planned that were not!
If the freezing point is below the mountain tops then it's a definite no no!

Be careful guys - the mountain weather today said the freezing point was above 300m in the Beacons and the top of the Gap road is above that. The steps can be trecherous in icy conditions and it's a long way down!
I'm doing a different set of lanes to be on the safe side.
Have fun!

Will keep an eye on it thanks. CRAG have a team that are working on a foot bridge all weekend. I will give them a call saturady to see what it is like.

This is a good site to get a snap shot of the weather on the day. It's what i use when I'm out walking or climbing in the brecons.

There's a similar one for Northe Wales and the Lakes.

Three of us went to the Wye Valley in the end - seemed a good place to get out of the wind (technically half of it is in England I know but I started this thread in Wales)! Drove some craking lanes and explored a few new ones. Almost all narrow, steep and rocky. Richard got stuck on lane number 13! Bit of a mud hole where the Forestry had cut a track across the lane, but not allowed for drainage from the lane - consequently a deep muddy hole had formed.
Sorry you couldn't make Dave and Luke - hope ya get the vehicle fixed soon!

And here's a few of Richard stuck in the Forestry created mud hole.
Strange - Rafe and I had no probs. Maybe he took a different line!

Nice.
I really want to do the Wye Valley / Tintern sometime as it's close to my home turf I grow up in yet I do not know any of the lanes or where they are.
I have a greenlaning DVD shot in that area, but it gave no clues.

Well Steve, we must sort a date to make another visit as there's still a few more I want to take a look at! And I'd love to go back as we had a great day.
Another GLASS member will be more than welcome to join us. Due to the type of lanes and the area, three vehicles are max in my opinion.
