Tyres can't be that bad if you made it up the Wayfarer Sunday :)
Once you get a little damage you'll be less bothered about protection
I know I have given up trying to keep it looking tidy :D Mud just hides the damage now

Just sunday could be possible, depending on numbers. I am leading one of the groups.
Depending on who is coming, depends on how hard or easy it is. Rob is sorting out numbers, so please check with him if theres places left.
I am planning to meet Rob tomorrow to plan the routes, we will be split in to small groups.
It might even through Poo City!!

Reply from Robb on Difflock: -
Hi. I have been answering emails on my phone and it leaves no record of sent messages on my inbox, so I don't have a proper record of who I've said what to, so if you are coming could you please send another email to say how many on your group and if you want hard or easy lanes and a b+b or not.
Yes, it's short notice, but we'll be running more free weekends very soon, quite probally all over the country. Keep watching the website.

Right just to let people know. Rob and my self need to know by the end of the day who is coming, we need to know numbers. Can people please email Rob by the end of today(9pm latest). After this there will be a cut off. Email even if you have done before.
We are starting Saturday 10-30 am from Mile end services on the A5/A483 roundabout. SJ 309 285. Same place for Sunday and same time. Routes will be planned as Easey and Medium. You will need at least ATs tyres. Finish is when we are done, more that likely about 5pm.
You will get scratches, there is no such thing as non-damageing greenlaning.

We've been meaning to join CRAG since we went to Ray Dadd's meeting months ago...we didnt have any cash on us at the meeting and we havn't been able to make another meeting since then due to other commitments.....
I'll fill out a form for saturday ;)
As for your son Dave, he must be keen :p .... my idea of revision is a day or two before the exams :D
Just had my January module results (some AS resits and some A2 papers) ....i think i might need to do a bit more work this year

Hoping to inspect an old footbright bridge tomorrow thats down a muddy track - I've been given the job as none of the other lads wants to get their cars dirty (or stuck).

Hi Dave
I thought they frowned upon work experience with family members nowadays. At least that's what my neice was told when she wanted to come with me last year, perhaps it's just her schools rules.
Shame I can't make Sunday, got a job that has to be done Sunday and can't re-schedule.

Haven't gone into the details yet - we get 3 or 4 work experience kids a year and one of the older guys is very good at looking after them - if Pete does come to the office he won't be spending much time with me..

Very tempted mate but I have a few bits of running around Sunday morning as I have contractors working on one of my sites. Wayfarer could be a good hour (assuming all the snow has gone:eek:) another hour for me to get down to Llandrillo means I would be cutting it too fine :(
A55/Wrexham by-pass will let me get to the meet on time (the TD5 is great on a fast road :)) - if you're going back to Bala afterwards I'll happily do it on the way home :D

I have the route planned for sunday. Its not to bad. But it dose involved going down Poo City. If anyone gets stuck they have to fix their own tow rope here.
But noone should get stuck:rolleyes: I have planned it to finish just above Llanarmon DC. But if anyone needs to get home before then I will tell them the quickest way back to the A5. I have not set a time for the finish, as some know I am not one for going home early:p .
If people turn up early, before 10-30 then can go ing the first group with Rob.
We aim to do a run about every 6 weeks, as long as there are places. This been done as a recruitment drive for CRAG. But you DO NOT have to join to come.

There is about 3 inches here.
But most of the route planned for today is hard rock under it. I will just chance some of it to miss the soft stuff.

Great trip laning today with Paul Humphreys, JJsaul and LandyV8 :D
Been out with Paul Humphreys before, recommend it to anyone if they get the chance as Paul knows so many great lanes :D :D
Good to meet JJsaul, LandyV8 and Ian (JJ's dad).
Handed in my CRAG application from (just had my membership confirmation emailed :D)
Lots of low branches with all the snow, few needed triming back and Paul got some sawdust in his eye, hope it's now better fella.
Got stuck a couple of times - driver error but I blame the snow  thanks to JJsaul and LandyV8 for their recovery assistance and waffle boards - got to get me some (added to the growing wish list  )
JJ got stuck once, blamed the tyres he bought off a dodgey salesman (Geo :D )

nice pics Dave :)
yes i got stuck on an incline after stopping to allow a gate to be opened. tyres filled with mud and ice and became slicks
the bit where dave got stuck was crossing a deep gulley, i got through first time...maybe to do with attacking it at 15mph+ and bending the steering guard slightly in the process  LOL

Speed would have done it but bearing in mind the sharp bend, snow on the track and the edged to slide over (with big drop) I am happy with the gentle option I took :D Gulley didn't look that deep in the snow
LandyV8 took a bigger swing and managed fine

Good day out though and good to drive some new lanes with new people. I値l be joining Pual laning again. I'll go and have a look at the CRAG site now and read up about the membership.
