Limpopo Province weekend

Went away this weekend with our Land Rover Owners Club to Limpopo Province. With soooo much rain about this week we couldn't bear the thought of missing it. Mud and wet everywhere:D . Pleasant change from the dust that normally prevails. Only down side was setting up camp in the rain on Friday evening. Lovely camp site. Chalets also available which were stunning, situated looking directly over the river.

Nice turn out of about 8 landys and 2 classic rangies and one series 2 V8 Disco . The area was awesome with some great off road trails and some great hiking routes. Amazingly with so much mud and water there was only one recovery done the whole weekend. Mind you there were a few hang over recoveries needed. :beers:

You would feel like you were still in England. It's been raining here for a little over a week over about 80% of the country. It's been raining virtually all night (raining as I write) and for most of the day and heavy rain not just drizzling. The Vaal dam went from about 30% full to overflow in 3 days!!

I must say it's been enjoyable. The country needs it to prepare for the long dry spell ahead through winter. Only the Western Cape has been excluded and they have been having raging fires. I don't know if it has been on your news there at all. Table Mountain and many other areas burning for days out of control.
