Hello peeps, after mentioning that i may be going to wales with some lads for the easter weekend, it has, after quite allot of interest, turnned into we are going lanning in wales over easter.

We have,
Ajcoll, PeteH, Red, Geobloke,Myself, Couple of non forum landy drivers all keen....

Anyone else Keen, whack your names down and we'll make some solid plans..

Obviously we already have the best part of two groups, so if any more are interested we will have to split more groups....

Geobloke mentioned there was a lot of lanes we never drove last time, so although he dosnt know it yet, i will be picking his brains about them and try to get some good routes sorted out..

Last time was a great weekend, camped out, talked landies, drank beer and talked more landies, fell over a fence in the camp ground, and did some great lanes..Not in that order...

If you're really stuck you could always do north to south as the LRO '100 miles off road in a weekend' write up in the November issue...

Some of the route grid references are actually in the Irish Sea but apart from that you could take in a good selection of lanes including the Wayfarer, Strata Florida and Sarn Helen :D :D

Sounds like you could have several groups - set slightly different routes and have your own Gumball Rally - north to south with the winning group being judged on time, getting the most off-road miles and sheep encountered?:lightning

Meet up in the middle to camp :cheers::guiness: :beers:

Not a big country so you should easily do it in a weekend, (actually its about the same size as Slovenia) ...:D

Other option is to run her on the expensive stuff or I may even come in the car and sponge a lift off-road. I have lots or tracks marked up and I also tracked the lanes we did last time so ill be happy to navigate / lead. I quite enjoy map reading rather than driving some times.

They send you a key and pin so you can fill up at any of their sites. If you only use it once or twice that weekend it would be worth it, cos they are only about 39p. I have an account with them and it works fine, I might be able to go, and if I do you could borrow my key and pay me for what you use.....

Its the same as a half inch AF James!!:D You've probably got one of those.

I did Strata Florida in my unlifted unsnorkelled V8 last feb, it went in to one bit a V8 came out a 2CV-at least it did'nt stop in the middle, the water was freezing! :eek:

WD 40 sorted it!!:D Now have waterproofing kit.

Ah ok. I think theres some bolts came with the guards....theyre the wraparound (cheapo ones , not QT) type.

I don't have any taps :(

I was transferring them from MM to Mapsource and ended up a mess. The route looked like one of those pictures made from hundreds of nails string running from each of them. I'll have another go tonight. I don't have a decent scale map of the area to transfer the route. If no-one else has one I'll buy one up there and we can plot in the pub. Aye.:D

Its a nice little crossing but the lane is only maybe 200mtrs long, literaly come off the tarmac, cross the riveer then just about straight onto tarmac, but its a good starter for a group..
