WOW... What a great weekend! Kate and I had a fantastic day on saturday! excellent lanes! It was great to meet new folks and the same goes for the familiar faces :)

On sunday we spent the day driving and exploring Wales. We took mostly B routes and saw the most amazing villages... the countryside is absolutely fantastic! What a beautiful country!

We made a trip to the coast and lunched on a sandy beach :)

We got home this evening after a easy going session stopping in Brecon

I have some pics that i will post a bit later, and of course a couple of clips that I will upload to my website.

Once again Awsome Easter Weekend in Wales!

Gald you all had a good time,i see from the pics that you drove the byway by the campsite from the bottom to the top, thats a cracking little lane if i do say so myself.:)

Water at the top looks a tad shallow, you needed more rain the week before:D

hello chaps,

I was the guy with the red series 2a and mad dogs on the campsite.

It was great to see all your fantastic landy's. Glad to see you had a good weekend getting all muddy. You have the right idea taking in the countryside from the drivers seat, not sat on a bike saddle in the cold and wet.

You were a very nice bunch to meet and chat to, I must get my 90 out and muddy with you lot some time.

cheers

Si

Hi Simon.

Welcome to the forum. That’s a nice landy you have. You will have to get out with us next time we plan a trip out laning. I was the one in the Astra by the way. Ill be in the landy next time.

Thanks guys for the comments on the old beast, I would like to get out lanning more, I will keep an eye out to see what your all up to, I'm not very experienced off road, just a couple of driving days with the land rover experience, so a novice in that respect. Driving with a group would give me more confidence / back up should anything go wrong.

anyway nice meeting you all

Cheers

I live in south derbyshire, near the leicestershire / nottinghamshire boarder in melbourne, very near donington park.

I'm up for a lanning trip, so will keep a look out. I do alot of mountain biking in the peak district / yorkshire dales / wales and know the areas quite well, but never driven any of the lanes.

Was the V8 ok after it's soaking?

JJ's probably in a better position to comment, but I was well impressed with his truck :)

and in saying that... he comes prepared with his water-proofing and WD40 :D... so no reason for it not to be OK :)

Not a million miles away then!!

There's the derbyshire laning group which go pretty much monthly. Look in the laning section and theres a huuuge thread somewhere :)

Yes the V8 was fine...even if i did have wet feet :D
