Went fishing along the beach yesterday and testing the boat that we will be taking along to Angola.
Results:
No fish caught.
Rolled (capsized) boat on second outing (large wave when launching), no injuries.
Drove the +/- 40 km home along the beach. Much fun was had.

Lucky bast**d.
Some of the best fishing in Southern Africa along your part of the coast... I caught a lot of cabeljou, steenbras, galjoen etc. between Swakop and Cape Cross.
If I'm lucky I might get some fishing done at year end at Storm's River Mouth.

Marc, yes, and we still have the right to drive on the beach - which, IIRC, is forbidden in SA.
For Fishing heaven though, you need to drive to Kunene mouth which is a bit of a Schlepp but well worth it!

If you're ever in Zim with the green one, please pop in.
I'd love to have a good look at your bumper so that I can copy it :D

Hey there in Zim,
that's a standard ARB Winchbumper. Won't be going to Zim any time soon, sorry...
Hi Bvudzichena,
Nice to have another Zimbabwean on the site. There are a few of us now, although most of are ex. If you get enough fuel to get away on holiday drop past for a cold one.:)
Looks like you have a great lifestyle there El Stiemo.

Howzit Boet!
I'm in France at the moment, but I'll be back home in January.
My truck has a 35litre sup tank under the wing and my guys are making me a 150litre sup tank with a raised / false floor and a bulkhead behind the back seats to fit into the back of the bus. The plan is to be able to go from Harare to Mozambique and back without filling up. I should also be able to get from Harare to Bloem without filling up.
Hopefully I'll still have a truck left when I get back. We both know what our staff are capable of getting up to when we're away. I've told them to take pics as they go along so I can post them on the forums.
I'll be going to SA in March/April so PM me and we'll make a plan to slaughter some bottle fish when I get down there.
Cheers
Bvud
