North Yorks CC have been slapping TRO's on some roads, so it might be worth while contacting them to find out which lanes are open.

from what I can gather W Yorkshire are not too bad with the old TRO's
have you tried BushTuckerman? I believe he is from your neck of this wonderfull county.
