I'm looking for 4/5 unused or little used Good Year Hi-Miler Extra-Grip tyres. Preferably 6.50 as they are for my Lightweight S111.

I understand that you can't get these anymore, even MVS can't help me. So if you have set in your shed let me know, maybe you swapped to larger or more road biased tyres.

Failing that, can anyone recommend an alternative tyre. I use the landie for green laning and off-roading so I want 100% off-road bias. (See piccies in You and Your Landie section).

I don't mind buying new rims, but really don't want to have to fit spats to accomodate Carlos Fandango Super Wide wheels...

Thanks,

SG

Deestone make a remold in the same pattern as the old Goodyears. Craddocks used to stock them and probably still do but they might only be in 7.50 x16 size.
If you insist on keep the military look then these are probably your best bet.

I have just gone from the 7.50 Goodyears on my 109 to Blackstar Guyanes. The difference in noise level is amazing, i never minded the noise the old tyres made but these are very quiet in comparison and the Guyanes have an agressive tread pattern.

My SIII Lightweight just failed its MOT on tyres, and I had the same problem as you getting replacements. However Craddocks were able to supply alternative hubs and tyres. I went for the cheapest option, which came to £160 (+ delivery) for four wheels and tyres, and had a choice of road or off-road tyres.

The hubs do appear to project a fraction (and we're talking a few mm here!) beyond the body, but not enough to be illegal - at least the garage had no problem MOTing it.

Hope this helps,
