My trip to buy mud tyres and wheels ended up with me buying another Landy!
Just bought a 1996 300 tdi 90 from Dunecht estates. Needs a bit of tidying (paint, roof lining etc) as its the keepers old vehicle, but it has full service records from Town and County for the first 3 years and then from the Dunecht mechanic upto present day. I was originally offered it for £2000 plus VAT but it turns out that the Factor had given me the wrong price, it was £3000 +vat. After a bit of haggling we settled on £3000, which I did not think was too bad for that age 90 after looking at the for sale sections in the Landy mags.
This means Poppy the 110 CSW is up for sale :( as I cannot justify having 2 sitting outside..well..I can, but Cas can't!! Any offers??

I'd say you'd got a bit of a bargain there.

£3000 for a set of remoulds...thats not a bargin...lol
Had to get onto Mann this morning to make sure the new wheels and tyres would fit the 90..thank god they do :D
Hope to pick up the 90 tonight and the wheels saturday so Nortrak might be a possibility on Sunday....got to see how it is in the water
I wish I could help you with a fine reason to keep both, Its not so bad for me Cath is a Landrover nut too, she won't trust anything other than the green oval to pull the horses, (she hates freelanders, and dislikes disco's at a girl!! Defender and Rangeys all the way). Horses are also a great bargaining tool when justifying boys toys.:D :D :D

Huey,
Cas is a Landrover lover too (She was born within the sound of striking Landrover workers in Solihull)...so not too bad when it comes to twisting her arm. Picked the 90 up today and let Cas drive it back. Big smile on her face so thats that one and Poppy given the thumbs up :D
Yellow,
I went for Colway Mud Terrains in the end. Also went for modular wheels. So my cheap option turned into a slightly more expensive one as I had not budgeted for new wheels...such is life!
RESULT!!! Have you mentioned suspension, fancy bumper and winch etc?

Does that mean you don't have to sell poppy?

Rod, I am trying to breed a 200...(110 + 90) :D
Still not decided on Poppy yet. Mann listed some things that need doing to her and just now I cannot make up my mind whether to go ahead or pass her onto someone with more time on there hands. Not having a garage to work in is a pain in the backside.
Huey,
Not wanting a whinch of fancy bumper......yet!!!
First thing is to respray the 90. Might just go for Nato green and use a roller, just to get the thing looking a bit more tidy. Got a few flaky bits etc. Wanting to replace the sills with rock sliders and get a steering guard etc first.
Yellow,
Can't wait for the tyres, wanna try getting out of some of those holes that I have been too scared to venture into!

Huey,
in my excitiment I noticed several spelling mistakes, including "whinch"..LOL..see what it does to you!!!
Had a good look round the 90 today, mainly because when I turned left this morning at the bottom of the drive, Cas got a pint of freezing water dropped on her from the head lining. The fact I ****ed myself with laughter did not help!..:D . It seems that where the roof mounted "bunny boiler" spotlight was mounted above the gearstick, the resulting hole left after its removal is not as watertight as i thought.
Also getting water pouring in over the pedals when I tried to wash it.
The paint is actually not as bad as first thought to copious amounts of matt black chequer plate is being sort as i type. that will cover most if not all of the flakey stuff.
Also spent over 3 hours with a hose, a stick and a screwdriver completely washing the chassis and underneath in prep for a dousing of waxoil. I must have had 10 pounds of mud fall off, and i thought it was pretty clean to start with.
I did notice the front diff pan has a huge dent in it..so not sure what to do about that....
