Ah well, it was bound to happen. The "klunk" from the gearbox in the green90 finally turned into a "crunch, bang and grind". Result? No forward (or reverse!) motion....
Fortunatley it happened only a few miles from home (could have been worse... a lot worse) So this weekend will be spent investigating the damage, and replacing the gearbox.
That's Land Rovers (and the 110 was off the road with a destroyed rear prop UJ!). Should have bought a J##p!

What a pain mate sorry to hear that.
I know the feeling took me four days to get mine out and back together with a bit of help from my friends. Mind you should be quicker next time I suppose.
Good luck.

Sheesh! Wash yer mouth out!
Sorry to hear about the 'box though. :(
Sympathise with you too. Just got the rangey back from Air suspension woes, needed a new compressor (warrenty thank god) and water pump. But drove it home kicked the gear box down and only backed off at a ton, all is forgiven till next time.

Upon investigation, we found that the clutch had disintegrated. The section between the friction plates and the centre had fractured, twisted and fallen to bits. So the 90 is back on the road (reversed onto the grass in the front garden again, much to the neigbours disgust!!!), with a new clutch fitted.
Transmission "klunk" is still there, but not as bad as it was. So all in all, worked out nicely.
Thanks to Malc and Robert for their help over the weekend to remove the gearbox and refit complete with new clutch.
Ross.
