I would love to! Just moved to Littleport from Nottingham so this it will be very interesting.
Only problem is, i have a bog standard 110 200tdi with pretty AT tyres on. Will it be up for the job ?
I know i need to get MT's but they are going to have to wait for a while!
Let me know.

Edit that - i will go and buy some MT's.
Just seen some Colway MT's for £51 each. Got to be worth it!

Thats more like it lol,
Ringo,
Yes AT's will be fine, thats what I'm running. The going isn't to bad more sandy tracks with a couple of muddy bits. I can e-mail you the details if you like.
Don't buy those tyres yet I know a place that do Bronco Amazon and tracker MT's for under £50 including VAT you just need to fit them and they are better than Colway's http://www.rotyres.co.uk/tyrepix4x4.htm
Scotty,
Hope to see you and Alan again, would give us a chance to do that part swap:D
Cheers
Darren
Those tyres are cheap! Trouble is, we have 265/75 R16's fitted at the moment and that size is hard to come by (they don't have them on that website - but i will ring them up and see). We would like to keep the same size (not sure if we have to stick with the same size due to the wheel size) becasue they look very cool! Apreciate the advice.
Will try and work out how to PM you my email address now.....

Hi Scott,
Sorry can't do Saturday, maybe another time eh I'm sure to be taking the old V8 out again soon. Trying to do as much off roading in the V8 before the baby comes and drains me of spare petrol cash for the gas guzzler lol
Darren
What a success!
Can i (and my wife H) thank Darren so much for organising todays green laning. We had a brilliant time following Darren and his awesome V8 over lanes and fields for our first ever green laning experience.
It was a lovely day with no rain forecasted. We had a bit of rain last night but this didnt make for muddy conditions. We were welcomed at Darrens house to coffee and bacon rolls (hmmmm) and he also dished out the instructions for the route. Not that we needed them - Darren did the map reading!
There were a few tight sections, a few wet patches (hee hee) and all in all, 5 hours of green laning.
It certainly opened our eyes to what a byeway is and we will certainly be looking out for them from now on.
We look forward to the next outing!
Thanks again,
Ringo and H

Well, i fixed my headlights and wired up the spot lights yesterday.
What was i suppossed to do apart from go out and test them!
Anyway, me and H went to Thetford forest and chose a nice track (near elveden) that Darren had took us down last week. It was dark, the spot lights were good, but we still got lost!
Hee hee - can't wait until it snows!

Glad you fixed the headlights and spots.
I wouldn't suggest going out alone green laning though, if some things breaks your right in the S##T:( , although you can give me a ring if you do get stuck/lost :D and I will come out to you with the camera of course:D , you got my number.
I'm in the stages of planning another trip if your interested:playboy: , its over your way this time, lots of lanes between you and Ely. I will let you know when and details closer to the time, bit busy at the moment just joined SuLSaR so got a few training weekends to do. I would guest it would be around the middle of November when I could go out again.
Catch you later

That sounds brilliant Darren - we will be well up for that!
Point taken about the lone green laning - although it was mostly along the sandy track something could of gone wrong i suppose!
If you want me to help in any way to plan the new route - just let me know.

Hi Jandude,
No probs mate. The next trip will be a weekend around the 13th and the trip will be around Littleport/Ely so even closer for you.
Sulsar is closer for me for the training meetings so it made sense to join that one it was a bit 6 & 2 3's as I live on the border.
Will be in touch when dates times ect have been finalised.
Cheers

Just wondering if Darren or anyone else still goes laning in Norfolk/Suffolk?
I am spending more and more time around Norwich now and would love to join up with some fellow laners.
Wow - this is an old thread.
Hopefully Darren will reply to this thread (he has a cracking route round his way) but i seem to remember he sold his V8 - not sure if he's mobile again..
In 2005/2006 is lived in Ely and had a lot of fun with the Mudclub guys round there. If you are keen i suggest you get on mudclub.
No disrespect for folk on here, but i didnt get much luck when it came to finding people to go laning with.... Still, all it takes is two people to be enthusiastic and that will all change (and maybe it has - i havent paid much attention since 2007).
I did however find this place to be very warm and technically very helpful - one of the better forums IMHO.
Good luck
Ringo
