Everyone scribble 17th September in your diary. Our traditional end of summer BBQ will be held then.

Place will be the usual spot.

More details, as well as the colourful banner style official update, coming soon from the major himself :P

Not to moan... dont get me wrong... but Wednesday 21st is a public holiday... so why not.. erm.. make it that evening?

Saturday one might have plans which always hit the weekend... but mid-week.... most wouldnt have commitments.

Just suggesting as i wasnt with you guys yesterday... but i had to get done, what had to get done.:(

A thousand apologies but I did not know anything about Sonny's event and it's not even listed here (in the forums)! Also, given that Dynamited suggested another 'good' date I gave it a shot for your opinion!!

My apologies once again.......so sorry Dynamited we have to stick to the original plan and gather for the MLRAC End Of Summer BBQ on the 17th!

i need to fix my landy for sonny's event. the shock absorber mount(10mm plate) was thorn from the chassis.:D . Now it needs some welding and back to work.

PS the bump stops are still in the garage hahaha

Landymaniac you don't need to fix your landy for the BBQ, so no excuses:p

For Sonny's event I have a couple of things to fix on my landy as well...most important is my UJs or I'll have to run the whole thing on 2 wheel drive!!:rolleyes:

and i am spending all the next 3 days sanding down my landy and roller painting it ........... and than come sonny's event and it will prolly get all scratched with branches again :(

a new paint of Ivy Green all round is going on ..... i have black steel wheels atm .... should i paint them green as well ?? what do ya think guys ? :rolleyes:

anyway i should be able to make it on the 17th, 20th i'm in for the drive, its supposed to be a very easy green laning event as 2 ppl just got their land rovers and they're still learning how to go about terrain from wot i could figure out. anyway its an event how i like it basically :D just drive off the road with damages :D (at least i hope so or else the pc goes next to afford repairs, i saved all me money for service time :D )

Cheers guys... i prefer that place to selmun... at least the ground doesnt blow up.

Not to deviate from the point... but since its a bbq.. and it would hit the late hours.... anyone going to sleep over jew? Unless one of my mates has any tickets to go to some party or whatever... we`ll be coming. Cause if he would have spent any cash.. i cannot back out.

Bring on the steaks!

I`ll check with jean if he will get a military grill... much bigger than mine and we can chuck most of the food on it.

First of all ... anyone else will camp there? ( or was this discussed before? )

Hi Mates,

Nice hearing that you're organising a BBQ. I'll try my best to leave that evening free and come and join you....finally.

My landy is doing quite well recently. I had me steering system overhauled, changed a swivel joint, ball joints, front bearings, track rod etc...

The only problem left unsolved is the slipping first gear, which for the time being I can do without.

Paul... all is set... myself and jean are surely camping 2 nights. Another friend should be coming for the BBQ.

I`ve got planned to bring down my canoe... which we can take in turns. I only need to make sure its fibreglass doesnt need any patching. I am planning beforehand so i dont forget my fishing gear too this time.

I think we should keep in mind it could rain a bit.. so together with the `cloth` flysheet... i`ll try get some plastic covering.

LEW153... will be pleased to meet you..

TO ALL: From where can i buy a roof rack like of Dennis? I want to be able to take it off with ease... as I cannot leave it always on, since i use some car parks with low ceilings. If its the bars across only, i think its better... less rubbish for the garage.
I'll join in for 2 nights too. With a little runaway Saturday early afternoon to stick to my commitment.

I like the idea of the canoe :D Never been canoeing before.

Nev I think you can get a roof rack like mine from most car accessory shops. Just take a measurement of the width from gutter to gutter to make sure it's not too short. You can take measurements of mine if you want. I was lucky enough to get it from Kaci at the 4x4 show in april and it's been very handy for carrying stretchers and other bulky stuff.

Hi all !

last Saturday I came to the bbq but could not find the sacred spot ! I phoned up olo and guided me there but I could not find how to get down. Then all of a sudden ! RAIN ! so I backed out.

I hope u had fun.....i had to eat my burgers at home :(

Next time I wll visit the sacred spot earlier so that I would know how to get down there.

Well I'd say it was an all round sucess. From the Friday all the way to Sunday.
With a marathon laughing session for the BBQ.

Was a great turn out and toasted Svenuk and OUR forums.....Am sure photos will be posted soon.... :D :D

Straight on keeping to the sea to the left, down the rough slope.
Thing is OLo never came so he couldn't give directions.
The rain was only momentary realy it stopped after a few minutes.
Next time we make sure you have my number.

Hey all, I can safely say the BBQ was great.......well, another great get together!! Shame you lost way Lud!! I bet you've never been down there yet. Don't worry we'll go through it during a green lane session and you'll soon know how to go up and down!!

Anyway, thanks to all who attended and those who were nearly there, the event was another success!!

In any case on Lud's problem I suggest we get a list of all our mobile phone numbers just in case anything happens!! What you all think about this??:rolleyes:

Ed... you should have cancelled everything and came over ta. Brilliant two days of just lounging, grilling, eating, swimming, sleeping and best of all... drinking :D.

Its a pity monday wasnt a holiday or something... as it would have been great. Time flew past... but we really had a good laugh.

Next time, it would be probably winter / raining.. so instead of that green awning, we need to prepare a plastic sheet for the rain and some plastic for the tent not to become a mess. ( Yes... im already planning for the next time :rolleyes:)

AWESOME TIME GUYS, we do it again! Im sorry the guys who came to the BBQ didnt quite have the best of time... we were quite quiet this time.... DBorg.... needed to crack a few of his jokes... And we get some good drinking games... but people, get loads of drinks.. and sleep over, not to bother with the driving. I couldnt imagine myself driving home... from such a nice place as that.
