Dunno if anyone`s interested this week ( 5th till 10th ) there are the European Nations Hockey Challenge II - Malta 2005 being held at the Kordin Hockey Centre.

I was thinking of going on Saturday, there is more info on the site. Im not a particular fan of the sport... but if Malta can kick some ****.. i`d be there to cheer them along.

It is played on turf, it isn't ice hockey.

Although we did have an Ice rink it wasn't successful....... ;)

I knew that. Only joking... :D

The thought of an ice rink in Malta was a particularly humerous image for me. Can you imagine all those Canadians, Americans, and Russians all dressed up in their kit in the Maltese sun?

I must make a plan to visit Malta again with my girlfriend. I was there on business for a few days in 2000, but didn't have much time to do touristy stuff. There's so much of historical interest, and I have been fascinated about Malta since my childhood.

I grew up with stories of the crusades, and WWII etc. and of course, Malta features prominantly. My favourite stories were always about Faith, Hope, and Charity the Gladiator biplanes that defended Malta unaided for 17 days against the Italian airforce and convinced Mussolini that Malta had a powerful airforce :D

When I was in Malta I managed a quick trip to a museum, and I was amazed and moved to see one of the biplanes in the museum.

You'd enjoy the airshow then too as hopefully we will be having a couple of Merlin engined aircraft visiting from the UK, namely a Spit and a Hurricane.
The airshow starts on the 20th if I'm not mistaken.

Plus we got some beer drinking to do.... ;) :p
