Green Lane Sabotage

As some of you GLASS members may already know, there has been several reports of sabotage on green lanes recently in the GLASS News.

In the latest issue of GLASS News there was yet another shocking story about lengths of steel box section with spikes/nails welded to it and hidden in water. One particular section of the track was blocked off thus forcing everything other than walkers through the water. One lane I enjoy to drive is Stanage Edge in Derbyshire. This was reposted to have had spikes in the water at the beginning of the lane so be careful if you drive this or plan to.

I carry a long pole in my Land Rover mainly for checking water depth etc before wading (V8), but now it will be used to get a feel what is hidden in the water. I advice you to do the same or carry a few spare tyres with you.

Just down from stanage pole , heading towards the edge there is a deep rut full of water , well rut its more like a small pit , that would be worth checking out first before driving it .
I dont remember it being that big though ..

Anyone know where I could find a 5-6ft wide electro-magnet such as used in scrap yards???????
If so, we'll fit one to the front of one of the 'mogs, and sweep the lanes....

I s'pose a couple of metal detectors could be used to find stuff before you drive over it.

It'd make a bad days 'laning having to have a "red flag man" walking in front of you to scan the ground for nasties.

If I find someone doing this I will introduce their backside to said spikes.

Just the job!
Only 3ft though and seeing as I'm only here for another 4 weeks or so maybe spending £340 to sweep a few lanes!
Would be very cool though. Just imagine the looks on the faces of the "sab's" when they see me trundling along picking up all there bits of junk.
Could they not be done for littering or illegal dumping at least?

When laning today we used a scaffold pole (reduced to about 3ft) to check for things in puddles.
