Does anyone know of any (moderate) greenlane drives in the Greater Manchester area, for a novice such as myself to baptise my Defender?
I have a good selection of OS maps.
Thanks.

Hi tom.

I live in Manchester area but there are not many lanes in the area. Once you get out in to Rochdale, Burnley and over to the peak district, there are loads of lanes. There is a good site at Whitworth in Rochdale and they are open I think every 2nd Sunday or something like that. See http://www.landrovernet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32185 for info. For lanes etc look on the Way-finder website. This has loads of lanes marked out and tells you the current status etc. I have done a few lanes in the peak district around Hathersage including Stanage Edge, although I wouldn’t recommend that to a beginner.

Thanks for the advice Lewis. My problem is that I have to work most Sundays, I do get Saturdays off though.

Turbo Tom,
I live out at Glossop and I am trying to organise a green lane run out my way. Are you interested?
