Hi everybody,
My names Jarrod, i've recently finished a complete re-build of a H reg landrover discovery 200tdi (although it dont look like it anymore):D
i'm looking to meet people in my area for socialising and green lane trips.
my vehicle is quite well equipped (winch guards chunkys etc etc) i have quite alot of off road experience but on 2 wheels rather than 4.....
so if anyone wouldn't mind an extra on some greenlaning trips drop me a line.
Thanks all. Jarrod.

I'm in South Wales and am interested in some decent trips out, although I would describe myself as lacking experience with regard to off-roading. I have two Discoverys, a 300tdi and a V8 both of which are mostly standard for the moment. I'm hoping to do the V8 up as a decent off-road vehicle but am in between jobs at the moment so just waiting for the situation to sort itself out.

Hiya Brian, :bigwave:

I have a discovery myself and am in the process of modifying it after spending six long months restoring it from the chassis up. i've been in touch with my local rights of way officer who is sending me a set of OS maps of the region that have all the legal off road routes marked on them, be good once your situation is sorted to maybe get togeather and start with some of the gentle lanes, i'm in the process of getting togeather what recovery gear i would need in the event of getting stuck, my disco has a winch fitted and i've got the various shackles and strops so hopefully i'll be able to get a training day somewhere with someone who can show me how to safely use it all now, lol.
Jarrod.

Hi guys.

I don’t live in Wales but I do spend quite a bit of time there as family have a place nr Bala. I know a few lanes around north Wales and I am laning there the weekend after next for 2 days with overnight camp. The next time I arrange something I will give you a shout and you can tag along. With regards to training days etc I recommend you give Dave Mitchell a call. He is based in Bala and he offers a wide range or tuition courses including recovery etc. 07802840444. see here (http://www.landcraft4x4.co.uk/drv_tuition/index.html)

Sounds like a Plan to me mate, of course your Guiding will be rewarded with mildly intoxicating bevereges afterward, i dont mind a bit of a wait as my disco is off the road while i sort her gearbox out.... sob

It'll probably be about November/December time until mine is ready for off road action

hello discomad

myself and friends are having a weekends laning in Brecon area over the weeknd of 7/8/9 oct. Not really into the "get stuck for 3 days, phone international rescue" scenarios, so may well be your thing. i would be more than happy to give you some tips and hints as required... let me know!

Hello to Jarrod and Brian H

Thats a date then if your interested! As i said, we are not really into the Mud Plugging stuff, more of the sit on the top of the hill with a breathtaking view, whilst making a cup of tea type of venture.

So far, we have the following vehicles participating:

Cliff, Kevin and myself in the Volvo 303
Graeme and Shelley in the Lightweight
Mark and a spare seat in his Range Rover (though not confirmed yet)

So we have space for two more vehicles, thereabouts.

The format is camping, few beers and some excellent scoff, as two of the team are qualified chefs!

Have a peek at our little site on www.sq3.co.uk/landroverings to get an idea of our usual weekends

All the best Dave
