Hi guys,
It's been a while since I last posted a message, but I got this thought brimming in my head.
What is the worst term that someone (not a Landrover fan) has ever referred to your Landy?
In my case my work colleagues are consistently calling my Landy a 'Jeep'. Makes my blood boil. One guy even went further and once called it a van!! Needless to say I was tempted to never give him a ride again. :D
Then there are the older relatives who inist and say things like "biex qieghed illum, bil-Jeep?" What else!?
Interested to know your views! :)
'jeep' winds me up:rolleyes:
'rust bucket' and 'heap of junk' come close second:(
Allways put them right tho;)

I've had that - and he is a bloody StationWagon - now if they had called him a bus I could have been a bit more forgiving :)

I had that once from one of my ******** neighbours.
i get "jeep" and "van" ALOT.... just gave up on correcting and i just giggle at them.

me i hate the fact that they call it a VAN. I have a Bl****y disco why they call it a van! it make me go nuts.
and when they call it a jeep...i say jeep owners just wish they have this piece of art and engineering ;)

I had that once from one of my ******** neighbours.
I often fantasise about driving through my neighbours gardens, I have even picked the route, which fence panels to punch thru , ponds and trees to avoid...etc

Since the convirsion of the roof its being called a camper van by most people.
others that dont say Jeep just ask what is it!!

Not so bad really.
There ia a chinese saying about landrovers, not very fair really but expresses a common feeling about the quality. its rhymes in chinese.

I still need to invest in one of those t-shirts saying "For the last time, I don't drive a F&^$ing Jeep" or a sticker for the rear window saying "the vehicle in front of you is not a jeep"

i've seen some of them t-shirts on a couple of sites, however there is a particular sticker site which i loved, it was once posted on this forum. made me laugh my head off

my mom calls my landy a van and sometimes I call it like that too. a stupid friend from sliema used to call it a military truck:rolleyes: . at work they all call it land rover because when they say jeep i do not answer.
the neighbours call it fish & chip van or ms donalds:D because of biodiesel.
my girlfriend call it ermmmm lots of offesive names such as.......junk........bitch:p

they call the range rover a mini bus at work... because of its size
re the series 1 it gets called a lot of names... affari, imbarrazz, is sewwa, karrakka, junk, qahba, lapazzata etc etc... :rolleyes: :D

Same here... My Girlfriend calls it one of the following three names: lump of iron, skartocc or tuna can !!
but the most offensive one I get is Jeep.... ehhhhh

On Saturday night I picked up 'non Landy' friends of ours in Gordon and the word 'J**p' was mentioned but I explained their error very politely and when I saw them yesterday Gordon was called 'the Land Rover' :yay:

Luckily I reffer to the CJ-5 I have at home as a "piece of sh*t" so everyone has just followed suit. (only call it that because of all the aggro I have to put up with while restoring it).

But we must not forget the fact that the Wilkes's brothers used ex. WW2 jeeps as a basis for the original Land Rover.

we must admit now that the green peace and the environmentalists think we are the destroyers of nature we have to call our loved landies Weapons, Military artifacts etc ....
its not an SUV but an AEM - anti evironment machine...lol

The worst was when someone called my landy a funeral car....you know....the one that carries the dead guy:p!! The friend who called it so even went one step further and told me to put the sign of the cross on both sides of my hard-top:D !!!!!!!!!!! I was nearly going to put him crucified :Crucify: .....but then he laughed and told me "come on it's only a joke about your J**P" :eek: ....... that just made me stare at him in horror :p
