Hi there, think i will be over on Sunday. Got a free weekend at last! Does anyone know how much they charge for a bit of instruction? Been greenlaning a bit and went up to Glen Shira last weekend, but would be nice to get some feedback on how to tackle certain sections etc. Be nice to put the disco through its paces!

Hi Discomart.

Great be good to see you. As for instruction Myself or Steve will be very happy to give you a first drive where we will sit in while you go round or you can come in my motor and will take you a drive round the course. If you are unsure of anything just ask when on site as we are usually driving round the course most of the day. There no extra charge for this. Also as its a pay and play site there are loads of sections that you can drive while you build up a bit of confidence then during the day you can try the more challenging parts.

Cheers for now.

I'm very keen to head up to NorTrak again sometime soon, but both Jane and I will be very busy work wise over the next few months (me during the week and Jane at weekends), so it will probably be later in the summer.

I am hoping to get up to Perth for the Hill Rally and to help out there, sounds like it'll be a good combination of watching some serious kit in action as well as a bit of off-roading into the bargain.

Will keep you posted as to when we might next be up.

Cheers,
Ross.

Just want to say thanks to all the guys at Nor-track for a great day yesterday! Learnt a lot about what i can (and can't! - not much!) do off road in my Disco. Really good site, lots to keep me amused and there was plently of scope for more extreme driving for those who wanted it! From what i saw the site can only get better and better. It was a dry (sunny in scotland????) day so look forward to seeing the course in the wet!

Went away knowing that either I'm gonna buy a rangie with a stonking V8 or spend some well earned bucks on the disco! Happy days!!!!

Thanks again guys and look forward to some photos.

Hi Discomart.

Glad you had a good day. The Disco will keep impressing you with what its capable of, super motors, Iv had two of them previously.

Hope to see you back soon.

Hello to the forum, new member here.

I like the photos of the weekend, especially as I am in lots of them! *L*. Cheers to all for a great day out at Nortrak, excellent site and kept me amused all day - particularly the bomb hole at the top of the hill.

Bit of a shame about the electrics but I guess you can't beat up a car that much without a minor problem. Looks as if I mashed the propshaft against the starter solenid, unfortunately all the starter motor wires were in the way and 7 wires were either broken or damaged!. Thankfully the ignition still worked and the bump start I got (thanks) got me home OK and I managed to sort all the wiring out today and more importantly put the wires out of the way so I dont mash them again.

I am sure I shall see you again soon at Nortrak or BORDC comps.

Cheers
Ian

Hi Ian

Welcome to the forum :bigwave:

Glad you had a good day and shame about the problem i suppose one way to look at it is its good it happened on site on a sunny day and not on road during a dark night. Anyway look forward to seeing you again sometime and any other forum members that can make it.

Cheers

Hi Mark.

I wouldnt worry about bashing the motor as you can choose what you want to drive and what you want to avoid. there are lanes to avoid all the xtreme bits. I can pretty much tell you now what is likely to be difficult or possible areas to get stuck in, now that I have drove every part of the course and every other part of the course that I thought I couldnt drive. Dont think there would be any worry. And hey if you fancy trying some of the extreme bits just jump in with one of us and we will take you for a spin. Dont laugh if I get stuck as its pretty likely when you have a passenger, Murphys law always strikes at times like that.:D

I can vouch for what Rod says. All the courses have escapes to avoid obstacles, and it is clearly marked where severe hazzards are. You will want to go into the bomb holes though (they are so inviting!), although most are not 110 friendly! I can also vouch for Rod getting stuck with passengers, as we witnessed this when he went through a particularly deep bomb hole with a passenger!!! To be fair, he did manage to get out under his own steam before Jarrad got the recovery rope attached. And I am sure I noticed a "special" being towed out of the same hole in the last lot of pharis' pics :D !

Cheers,
Ross.
