Series III - 4WD Low help

Hi all,

I have a slight problem to engage the gearbox in low position (red lever fully towards seat). I'm suspecting it could be jammed due to not being used for quite some time. I took off the middle seat and uncovered a plate, fixed by 4 bolts. There's a shaft with a gear moving left to right? Will it help if I remove the bottom cover to inspect the gear selection?

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated...

you need to go underneath the landy and find where the low selector shaft slides inside the gearbox. there is a cover with 3 bolts i think ghandu 2 pipes erected:) remove that cover and spray wd40 inside there. also check that the shaft is not bent. also check you have the correct oil EP 90

if you cant engage low than you can always take your transfercase to LOURD or you can pray and say the rosary a couple of times beacause you will need to dismantle the transfercase to clean that shaft:(

you need to fix it kingo. a 2.3 diesel without low gears can't go nowhere.

If you need to remove the housing and you might just be patient, you might be able to do it in place, no need to remove the whole box.
