We are having a weeks holiday in Norfolk in August staying at a place called Stiffkey not sure where it is not looked at the map yet.

Can anyone tell me if there are any lanes around there ?

Or any places of interest :)

Well Graham

points of interest first, just down the A149 heading towards Sheringham there is the Muckleburgh Collection, military vehicle museum, I believe they have an off road course that you can drive various armoured vehicles on. There's the North Norfolk railway at Sheringham and Thursford Steam Museum. A bit further away at Aylsham is the Bure Valley railway, there's Cromer which is worth a look, heading towards Wells next the sea is the Wells and Walsingham Light railway.

There's numerous country houses, gardens, country life museums and wildlife parks and that sort of stuff.

As for green laneing get copies of up to date ordenance survey maps of the area, check local government websites for any restrictions nearer the time. Around Thetford area is very good for light green laneing, there are 2 or 3 off roading centres, which for the life of me I can't remember the names of, and of course you can contact Breckland Landrover Club on 01553 772153. There is another club in Norfolk, near Norwich but I can't remember the name at the moment so I'll get back to you.

Hope this helps, there is a few more boys in Norfolk who might help pad this out a bit.

hi
i live in Norfolk and am a member of 4x4 Response (www.4x4response.net (http://www.4x4response.net/)) and Hickling 4x4 (www.hickling4x4.com (http://www.hickling4x4.com/)) it might be worth contacting both clubs they have extensive knowledge of the local green lanes, there are more lanes toward the north west of the county but be careful some lanes can be a little tight.
