Hi all,

has anyone fitted a PAS on a Series 3? I was told they use kits to fit PAS from Toyota Hilux. What your opinion about such an upgrade. I also found some articles showing how to fit PAS from a range rover.

Another thing I noticed from some research I did, is that some opt for different locations on the chasis to install the PAS.

Which is the ideal setup? Do you know of any mechanics which can do a good job for reasonable price? The best price range I got up till now is Lm300 - Lm350. I'm more concerned about having a good/trouble free system rather than paying the lowest price.

Thanks Cliff.

if you know how to weld and ILAPAZZA you can do it by yourself.

i would go for toyota PAS lm70 to lm100 would be fittied including al pipes etc etc. and would be easier to turn then that of landrover but some people say that if the vehicle is offroaded there maybe problems with the steering box.

you can also fit that shock absorber type power steering. As far as I know TDI200 has got one for sale @ about lm75. easier to fit

I have a RAM type powersteering you could fit, i had got it for my series 3 (so the wife may drive it) but never got down to fitting it (the wife did not like driving it anyway!). So i use my raw muscle power in my arms :p , joking apart, i can give you the whole kit, pump, ram and valve body for lm100 umbat fitting fidejk.

The good thing about this unit is that you do not need to modify, chop, cut or weld anything to exsisting parts, the landy may be left as original, it can be a bolt on job. The advantage is that the vehicle is still drivable no matter what goes wrong and if you need to resell the landy in its original state then just unbolt the bits.

Hi Grem, I'm highly intersted in your kit. Could you provide me with some urls or pdf files showing your kit or better how to install it? What would be required apart from the kit you have, to fit it? You can email me directly if you have some pdfs of the system. Thanks.

You need a bracket at the engine to fit the pump, you need another bracket at the chassis unless you have a steering damper fitted, which the ram replaces, modify drag link to fit the valve, then you need all the pipes to connect all together, and you're ready.

This what they look like, mine are all black

Reservior is included with the pump which is off a pajero, sorry no pic. The ram and valve are rebuilt units with new seals and rubbers.

If you want to see it call me on 79465842.
