film for school

i know its a bit short notice, but for a school assignment we got to produce a 7 to 10 minute film. the script we were given was a race (obviously we opted for a 4x4 race as thats the easiest vechile to get hold of). there's an accident in the dingli cliffs area, anyone has a suggested route to "start" the race and end it?

its not a real race and there wont be high speeds, just need good scenery to film the start of the race, a bit of the vechile "racing" and basically then the accident scene. the start and end of the race are there just for a few seconds to add to the story line.

Olo, I'm afraid that if I use my vehicle for a race, by the time I pick up some speed for a decent accident not just 10 minutes would have passed :D


Anyway, you can have any 2 volunteers with their vehicles maybe Dennis with his Defender 90 and Joe's [crap] Series and then the Series has something wrong (for a change) and it falls off the cliffs......while the driver manages to escape [oh we all love the driver, don't we?] !! And the scene of Series dropping off could be done for real.......that way you have a very very good film and you would solve loads of headaches to joe:D

olo, what about getting a Series without a clutch? I think it will reach VERY HIGH speeds with foot pedal.

its gonna be on saturday, and might catch some shots on sunday just to give up the idea of racing etc. since it will be done by professionals, filming will be from 6:30 am (thats the begining before the racing event) till around 1pm. so if u feel like droppin by sms me and i'll tell u where we are (as am not sure about which location etc., all i know that its goin to be around dingli area). if u dont have my number PM me today or else contact one of the other maltesers such as dborg01, buzz, dynamited, nighthawk etc. and they'll let u know :)

sure about the vid, hope we wont have much editing to do, however am expecting HEAVY sound editing (mainly swearing :p ) and noise since we dont have any fluffy thingy to reduce wind noise etc.

Well on such aged vehicle there are always loads of work to do... especially after buying it from a careless owner. Most recent upgrades are:

2.5 TD engine which will be followed by a recon gearbox this weekend, I will soon remove the soft top and interior this eve.

Parabolics are fine... I was inspired by Daniel at the LR show to remove old shocks to see how the parabolics would behave. Apart from bouncy they were soft. Now they got new shocks and the ride really improved a lot. I will no longer call them 'diabolic springs'.... hehehe

Soon to come is a change in diff ratio... will soon be opting for 3.5:1. the 4.7 are really boring with the TD.

I need to go take some photos to upgrade the avatar cause now it has a 90 front! That huge TD radiator could not fit the old series front and co-exist with the power steering servo.
