Just had a great weekend with the family, went back down to Rhayader and did some solo laning (I know I know its risky but they are gentle lanes so I wasn't too concerned)

Did similar routes to the weekend before last with the guys, the Strata run and a the Nant-Y-Moch loop and the same as I did with Damian returning up an interesting hillside section......90Mb video !!!! sorry too big to post from a dialup but its good.

I'll post up a few pic slater when I've got some more time......

Like you'd never go and get yourself crossaxled without somebody to pull you out. :nonono:

I'm much happier knowing you got that diff-lock fixed before I left!

As anyone who's read my blog will know - I cured myself forever of solo off-roading last December....

Heheheh! is really stupid to do solos and as you found out gurkha just not worth it! Sure I have done solos before but liek you it only took one or two incidents to cure me of that!!! ;) ;)

Must confess, I'm usually out solo. Something to do with being eccentric and mad, I believe! I'm still looking for a teddy bear for the passenger seat, if anyone can help; someone to talk to, you see!

The answer is to know your limits and not attempt anything that looks remotely challenging. The beauty with doing the same lanes as I did with Pete etc is I knew that they weren't too challenging.

The weather was changeable, with a mix of sunshine and showers but a lot warmer than a couple of weeks back. Water levels were still low so no prob with the rivers. Nice thing was there was no one about only saw one group of trail riders all weekend.

So a few pics, The Bothy

Nice pics Mike, tis true that Strata is easy as its stone all the way, with the challenge only being when the water is up in flood. I've never spotted the Bothy, but I am blind, where is it?

A few general pics of the Landy in nice places and the kids smiling ....theres a novelty ;)

The last two are by the first small reservoir you see to the right behind some trees on your way to the Nant-Y-Moch Lane, stopped their on the way home for a cuppa & a bite, need a bigger Landy or a trailor the kids could hardly move with all the gear.
