B O O M !!!!!

My heater keeps exploding. When I went back to the caravan late one night I tried to light the heater (first time it had been switched on since we arrived). After a few clicks of the sparker there was a huge bang the shook the floor of the caravan. :yikes: It has happened to my dad before. There was no damage and the heater has run since. Any idea what's happening?

It sounds a bit like the doings that regulates how much/fast the gas comes out is not working. If the gas is flowing out at a speed that is greater than said gas's flame speed, it will not ignite until there is an atmosphere capable of supporting combustion. In other words, an explosion.
