"thousands of caravan owners could be forced off the road under new rules planned by the European Commision. the proposals would put motorholmes and trailers into the same category as HGV's. this means caravan drivers, such as truckers, would need a special licence and medical checks every three years. the caravan club of britain said it was "studying" the plan."

taken from the news of the screws, so don't know how much truth there is in it????? looks like you pikey wagon owners might have to go back to buying tents after all.:p

Would not be so bad if they made everybody take a test b4 they pulled any sort of trailer even a little garden one.
Seeing some of the idiots on the road at the moment makes me cringe ,it's no wonder we get a bad press.

Totaly agree, I stare dumstruck when someone arrives at a caravan site after travelling several hundred miles in a forward direction and yet cant reverse a few metres :snarl:

Perhaps when we have our "Forum Caravan weekend" we should devise a reversing comp :smart:

You don't need a trailer/caravan to be an idiot driver.
No matter how many driving tests you take for each class of vehical. There will allways be the p##ts who insist on driving like complete and utter p####s.

Looking at the length of some of these twin axle vans does make me wonder
Some of the small artics cannot be much bigger yet you need to pass two hgv tests to drive one
Some thing wrong there i think.

have you seen the length of those trailers that carry gliders? They must be 30 ft, being pulled behind an Astra or similar, pretty scary...
