Pigs Can't Fly
Everything ready boys? " Asks the dispatcher who is Crab Air of the Canadians. "Sure is, all ready, straped down and ready to go " says the Stick Sergeant. "Right ! I will tell the Skipper, get ready" says Crab Air as he walks off towards the cockpit of the C130 Hercy Bird.
Everyone in the stick gives a grin and the thumbs up as he passes, five minutes later the big Herc transporter is climbing away from the Drome heading for the DZ.
"Red on! " Shouts Crab Air above the engine roar as the rear cargo door of the Herc slowly opens revealing the ground far below . Green on! Shouts the Para Sergeant, then lends a hand to push the Airportable "Land Pig" ( Land Rover ) and its trailer, which are strapped to a deployment pallet, out the back of the Herc.
First one then in quick succession all the other cargo Canopys deploy, the Land Pig is Flying ! Crab Air says " There you go, just as I have always said, Pigs can fly!
They watch it for a second as it heads for the DZ , then Disaster! First one, then in quick succession the cargo Canopys detach as they come under the extra pressure. The Land Pig and its trailer accelerate towards the DZ and total oblivion!
The Para Sergeant starts to laugh and says --"Yeh, ok, just like they say ,eh? Pigs Can't Fly!"
