No not the Sir Cliff Richard film.
I am just testing the water here. I wonder if any of the
members of the forum would like to go on a little tour
of soctland? Namely taking in some of the lovely scenery and
then maybe sampling some of the Whiskies??
There is nothing definate as i have to find out when i will be back
in blighty, but i would like to see if any of the forum would be
interested?
I have thought about maybe islay, moray, and then maybe wick?
What do you guys/gals think??
Possibly the wonderful highland park in orkney??
let me know

Lucky you O/F,
I am still trying to get my wife to let me go to islay.
She knows i would buy a cask if i got there.
It was just a thought for the future, not necessarily this year.
UIt would would take some palnning due to the geographical
distances covered. Maybe something for the future, as over
the past year and a book " in search of the perfect dram" i have
realised how little i know and have seen of this country.
Like the road to applecross. Apparently you can see most of
scotland from this road. Plus i wouldn't mind seeing/tasting
my way around scotland, especially if there were like minded
people aorund.
Even better if i can arrange it when " The Mcallan" are having
one of there famous tastings. My local shop
Gordan and Mcphails, will arrange a tasting if there were
enough of us.

Great idea - hope i've got the discovery by then, not sure if my ears or wallet would cope with a tour of Scotland in a series III.
Any ideas on accomodation :dunno1: camping/caravanning or B & B's. The road to Applecross - Bealach na Ba or "Pass of the Cattle" - is certainly interesting, climbs from sea level to over 2000 feet in a couple of miles with continous hairpins. I'll try and dig out a picture of the warning signs at the Bottom they forbid most things:p .
Cheers

Ummmmmmm - I hope to be back in the UK in June and would love to join in. Have just seen MudAllOverIt's link to his Freelandering adventures in Orkney and it looks a great place to take a Defender on M/T's!
For the time being count me in too please. June is a long way in the future....

Did that in the Caterham a couple of times. Fun road to drive.:yay:
I remember being up there at Easter one year and the snow at the side of the road was higher than the Transit roof.
