OF's ford picture was taken at Etal (Northumberland) at OS ref;
75/926 395
It used to be his avatar

I know the location because we were up there caravanning in June & I recognised the picture after visiting the village & walking to the ford (but not being allowed to drive it by SWMBO)

great stuff

I'd been scouring the os map for boats (with no real idea if they were legal or no) and fords, now I've got a tick list to steam through (sic lol).

What's the score with lettin g your brakes cool down before passing through a ford? Will it warp a disk? What are plugs? I can understand what an extension to the air intake does but what about the exhaust? Is the air pressure enough to stop water getting into the exhaust pipe? I've heard keep the revs up and slip the clutch, but....

Sorry for all the questions :-)

Hi NewBloke, you would be better putting a new post up for your questions.
Most of the fords are not very deep in good weather, if in doubt don't go through.
