A few years ago when I used to do a lot of mountain biking I used to go out for a nice cycle round the Glen Finglas Circuit.
It starts just above Brig O Turk in the heart of the Trossachs and follows what the mountain bikers call "Land Rover Tracks"! Now that is a challenge. It isn't a long run (about 16 miles) but at this time of the year with swollen burns and slippery conditions would be great fun to try in a Land Rover rather than on a bike........
The start is in OS position NN530073 and follows a partly finished road to NN523103 and then it is all rough tracks to NN486120/ 504150/518140 and then back to the start.

Has anybody tried this route and does one need permission from the farmer/land owner before hand? If I remember correctly, the last time I did it on the bike (pre F&M Disease) there were gates but because of the cyclists they were closed but not locked.......

Would anybody like to join me in a midweek recce some time?

Even better when the sun shines and there is enough breeze to keep the midges away.......... BUT yes you have to admit it is beautiful. Always love coming back to it after a few months away overseas, depsite all the less beautiful bits there are and all it's other problems.
Even better that bit is only a few miles from my back door!

I would be willing to have a travel along and have a look.
Depending on when it is of course.

Drew.

Drew, we are hoping to do it midweek, sounds like you need all your study time but you are welcome to join us if you can spare the time.
