hi, my whitee :) LR 97 Disco 300TDi . had a engine prolem, it just stop:rolleyes: . since i heard a metal sound i didn't crank it. i have it towed. i was 250 kilometers from my Place:lightning
when i open the valve cover, we saw that 2 rocker arm is broken and 2 valve cap is missing.:eek:
so i told my home mechanic that we remove the timing cover. ohh la la! the timing belt tensioner is broken in two :eek:. ouch!
so we check the crankshaft pulley, its pulley bolt is loose;), so what we did is to tightened it , but the Crankshaft pulley is still loose:nellie:.
so we pull out the Crankshaft pulley . the wood ruff key is damage:banging: & the key way in the Crankshaft is loose ,Damaged:(.
i also inspected :idea:the groove or canal of Crankshaft pulley & the crankshaft gear, again wow wow wow, both are damaged:(
so i have to pull down the 300Tdi engine:sobbing: to bring the crankshaft to the Machine shop to have the key way rebuild.
when i checked :idea:the Main bearing & Con rod bearing, it still good . but i prefer the machine shop changed the main bearing & i'm not good in fittings & to be sure the engine will travel more miles in the future:wizzard:
after a week , :)we already put back the 300TDi engine in the Discovery.
my problem is
how will i know if the timing of the injection pump is :confused: ADvance or Retarded, delayed.?
idling, no problem but when i rev it 2500 RPM there's a lot of whitish smoke
it start good in the morning:) , i already put new glow plug & have the starter serviced.
