Hi Graham if your still there.

Lanes don;t know sure there will be some but with not living in the area can't help, sorry.

But you won't be to far away from Langdale Quest.

Been here many times and is a good day out.

yes there are loads just to the south! Buy map no 94 and you should see plenty ORPAs. Don't know what they are like though! However in October a group of 101s did a load of these without any trouble. I wasn't with them though as I was in a different group further west. Try the ones on Glaisdale Rigg about 15 miles to the west. But avoid Gerrick Moor (W of Scaling Dam reservoir)- you will not come out alive! We rescued a Suzuki and an 88 who were terminally stuck and occupants starting to suffer from exposure!

Graham, there's also plenty of locations to go paddling as well. If you're like me & instantly divert of the chosen route at the sign of 'FORD'

Have a look at www.wetroads.co.uk (it also covers Lancashire)

I (personally) would have thought that 'green-laning' was a bit contentious in the North Yorkshire area at the moment, especially given the problems that Langdale Quest are having getting permanant planning permission.

Sorry I can't provide you with map-refs' locations, etc.... as I don't go up there enough, however try this site (free registration, I think);
