I am on the hunt for a couple of small robust angle drive gear boxes for a Land Rover design project.

The input / output shaft can be splined, keyed or plain. However, made of steel and 3/4 or 1 ins diameter.

The gearbox case must be made of aluminum, steel or cast and the gear ratio 1 to 1.

Needless to say as cheap as possible as this is the design stage.

A take-off part from a manufactured product, machine or vehicle would be ideal.

Shipping arranged to Vacouver, Toronto or the UK, whichever is the most practical if you have anything.

Any ideas out there folks?

Look for an agricultural machine breakers, there are lots of angle drives on various feeder wagons, combine harvesters and silage making kit.

Thanks for the informed reply.

Do you know of any particular agricultural machine which has a drive as described?

It depends how much power you need to send through the box. Things like tank emptying augers on Case and New Holland combines, some straw choppers, bed chain drives, etc use angle boxes to divert the drive line.

If you have a machinery breakers anywhere, go and have a look around.

Torque is minimal as is the power input / output. Size reqirement is due to federal motor vehicle regulations.
