Series II 1961 Gearbox -
the gearbox on my landy has just gone, please help me fix my baby as soon as i can.
this is my first bit of mechanical work im having to do, so any input or instructions would be helpfull. thanks guys

There is an early S2a 4 pot main gearbox in my shed if you want to collect it. Its an unknown as i aquired it for the transfer box only and it was already out on the floor.

oh rite, will that be compatible with my landy? but u say you dnt know wot sort of running order it is in? how much do you want for it and hwere bouts are you based? thanks

If your landy is a 2.25 or 2.5 engine then it will fit with no probs.
Feels ok when trying each gear and turning input shaft.
Free if you come and pick it up.
Rugby warwickshire.
If it dont go then i can always keep it as a spare for my 2a which currently has a s3 box in it, as i have all the s2a clutch mechanism and piping from when i changed to the S3 box.

No problem at all to fit. Besides it will clear a bit of space in my workshop.

Lunch time saturday will be fine, no crane needed its not that heavy and i have a bad back.

haha, no, in meant when i get home, will i need a engine crane to move the engine to be able to replace the gearbox?
